What do we offer that other outfitters do not? Take a good look at our job requirements and our guides. We hire educated people who are intimately familiar with Yellowstone and can speak intelligently about it, including wildlife biologists and botanists. We are non-hunting outfitters who are solely devoted to Yellowstone. In other words, we are not giving a few horseback rides while we wait for the real money to roll in during elk season.

We are people who have dedicated our lives to the promotion and wellbeing of Yellowstone National Park. We are genuinely excited about showing you the many facets of this amazing place that we call home. Our guides can answer most any question that you might have about the park, from the smallest flower to the largest carnivore. You also have the added comfort of knowing that your outfitter, Jett Hitt, personally accompanies every pack trip.

Our philosophy as backcountry outfitters is to travel light, impact Yellowstone as little as possible, and show you the client as much as possible. We do not bring big outfitter tents, chairs, radios and all the other comforts of home. If you want those, stay home. But if you want to see some of the wildest, most beautiful scenery on earth, come go with us because we are going to show you as much of it as possible. We try to make all of our trips an unforgettable journey.

We offer two types of pack trips:

The Thorofare Trip

Progressive Trips

These pack trips move camp every day. We like to think of these trips as a journey, and the destination is "more of Yellowstone." By moving camp everyday, we get to see as much of Yellowstone as possible. To the right is our Thorofare trip. This trip not only takes you through the Thorofare but through the Snake River country as well. We doubt that any other outfitter will take you on this trip, and we understand why--it's a whole lot of work. But what you get to see is just amazing!

Base Camp Trips

These pack trips have one or two campsites. We pack in to a remote location and set up a base camp from which we launch various activities, i.e. wolf watching, fly fishing and exploring. These pack trips are great for a focused itinerary.
