Meet Your Guide

Stephanie Wingren grew up in El Paso, TX and has been an avid rider for most of her life. She has trained and shown in both Western and English disciplines from a young age. While attending Texas A&M, she travelled with her horse, Savannah, as part of the Texas A&M Summer Horsemanship Clinic team and taught clinics in different cities throughout Texas. She graduated from Texas A&M University in 2008 with a degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences.

As a child, Stephanie spent her summers on her family’s ranch in Ecuador. The ranch has approximately 500 acres of preserved rainforest. She has spent many summers guiding scientists and tourists alike through this tropical wonderland.

She has also spent time in Kenya volunteering with the Cheetah Conservation Fund, trapping and radio-collaring cheetahs in order to learn more about their territories and populations. This project included educating local farmers about how to coexist with the predators and share their lands.

More recently, Stephanie guided trail rides in the high country of Victoria, Australia in the “Man from Snowy River” country. She is returning for her second season with Yellowstone Wilderness Outfitters, and she is sure to be a great addition to your Yellowstone vacation!
